Lawn Leaf Do I Need To Remove The Leaf Mold In My Yard In Order To Start A New Lawn Or Can Seed Over It?

Do I need to remove the leaf mold in my yard in order to start a new lawn or can seed over it? - lawn leaf

I bought a home semi-finals last summer in the woods. The former owner does not remove the leaves and has for many years produced a 6 to 8 inches deep in some places. It was a disaster for the least to say. I spent the winter, raking and burning leaves. Under the sheets is 2 to 3 inches of humus and a lot of root mass. I want to plant the grass court, but I do not know if I remove mold from the leaf, on the bare ground or in the first game on the leaf mold, and expect the best.

It is generally not a good idea to plant a garden under the trees.

They do not say what kind of trees the leaves fall. I would not remove the leaf mold, especially if it grow a lot of roots in it. The destruction of the roots could kill the trees.

A lawn usually requires full sun. There are certain types of grass that grows in the shade, but they are not as robust as a rule. So, when the lawn under the shady trees, it will be difficult. In addition, the leaves are falling from the trees in autumn, the grass is killed, if not immediately be raked his lawn.

The masses of tree roots that grow near the surface of grass competition for water and fertilizer.

Finally, when the trees are not used to be irrigated in summer, can kill trees when the water your lawn. I did it when I watered a new lawn, and water poured out of an oak tree that was used, is dry in the summer!

Good luck!

I do not think their hand "molds", but the decaying leaves (compost). If the page is not the rake is too large to create the channels for the seeds that fall form. Amonut Under the sun or shade to the terrace Gets, and the stakes much shade, you buy the right kind of seed. Be patient, the liver is sometimes difficult to establish.

Leaf shape is not completely terrible. It sounds terrible, but it is a refuge for flora and fauna, good and bad.
One thing you can try is a light cultivator to break into the mold and the air above the ground. This could be a good idea to spray the area with more than a fungicide, then break off easily on the mass of surface roots of the tree to a depth of about 2 to 3 cm, and there was a mixture of topsoil on it. Make sure that the tree in the deep water to promote deep root growth and avoid the shock of the plow. Do not sow seeds or at least 3 weeks for the fungicide to kill mold and let the flora and fauna of organic matter to decompose. Or better yet, in the first round again with a fork, once a week for a couple of weeks, rather than with a rudder. It is exhausting work, but the floor and breathing organisms in the soil and continue to break the leaves into nutrients for the tree without damaging the roots.
I do not agree with planting grass or grass under a tree. A variety of bulbs would make fun of it, unless the soil is wet. You may want to see originalsng plants some shade under the tree.
Good luck!

If people these crazy ideas? Decompose in the wild leaves and make the country richer. Where do you see anything that the forest floor is rich? You should convert the leaves on the ground and improve his bed, of course.

Then you plant the grass under the trees, if you have raked all the leaves on the lawn? OK look, you see the grass grow under trees in the neighborhood? If so, you will find a seed source of native grasses. You go with what, for the areas under cultivation. Refer to community extension can say what comes from the region.
